Up a lane in Kagurazaka stands a small restaurant that began on the ground floor of a geisha's house. Founded in 1977, two generations have worked the same frying station to welcome our guests.
You step up onto the tatami, and we fry each piece in front of you. This is the way Tenko has always kept. We look forward to your continued patronage.

Second Generation
Tenko was opened by our first-generation owner, who trained at Ozashiki Tempura Temmasa in Sarugakucho, Kanda, on the ground floor of a geisha's house in Kagurazaka. In 2010 the second generation was invited to World of Flavors in Napa Valley, San Francisco, as a representative of tempura, and has since carried tempura to food events in New York, Warsaw, Paris and Milan.
A large tatami room on the ground floor; private rooms and a counter upstairs. The frying station sits within the tatami room itself.

A documentary on Japanese cuisine filmed at Tenko, WASHOKU No.00 Tempura, and features on television and YouTube.
